4 Reasons You Should Include a New Mattress on Your Wedding Registry

Your wedding is just around the corner and you’re slowly but surely checking through your mile-long to-do list. One of the most exciting things to do before the big day is to think through all the things you and your future spouse will need to equip your new life together. From dishes and flatware to towels and sheets, it can seem like there are infinite things worth adding to your registry.

One item that is frequently left off of wedding registries is a new mattress. You’re about to start a new life together, and that includes a lifetime of sleeping together. You’ll spend significantly more time with your mattress than anything else you might put on your wedding registry, so don’t overlook your mattress. Start your marriage off on the right side of the bed!

  1. A bed that suits you both. When you purchased your current mattress, you were likely only considering what was best for your personal sleep health. Now that there’s two of you to consider, it’s the perfect time to assess each other’s sleep habits and find a new mattress so both of you can sleep comfortably every night. Not sure how to shop for a bed for two? Check out this post for some mattress buying tips on how to shop for a bed as a couple.
  2. Go bigger. With two of you squeezing into one bed, it’s likely a great time to size up. You’ll have to get accustomed to sharing your bed with another person so try a queen mattress set or even a king mattress set. Getting a bigger mattress will allow you both to have plenty of room to comfortably sprawl out in your favorite sleep positions.
  3. Invest in your future rest. By getting a new mattress at the beginning of your marriage, you’re investing in quality sleep for years to come. You’ll have a fresh, comfortable mattress that meets both of your sleep needs allowing you both to get your best nights sleep from night one.
  4. Replace every 8. Mattresses aren’t your common everyday purchase; they’re only required every eight years. There’s a chance your mattress may need an upgrade, regardless if there are nuptials in your future. Check your mattress tag and if it’s over eight-years-old, it’s time to replace. If it is time for a mattress upgrade, visit any of our Mattress Firm locations and we will be happy to help you find the best mattress for you.

Being a newlywed is an exciting time for you and your partner. You’re about to share a lifetime of beautiful moments, including those intimate moments right before you fall asleep each night. As you’re thinking through everything you need to make your new marriage a success, remember, you’ll be spending a lot of time in bed over the next several years, so don’t forget about your mattress.
